Week Sixteen

* We have completed our Super Powers, Super Readers unit for readers workshop! It's amazing to see how far everyone has come these past few months! As a way to celebrate our reading success, we are having a pancake party tomorrow morning with all three kindergarten classes. All the food that will be served meets all the dietary needs of our students.

* January Scholastic Book orders are coming home this week. Please place your orders online by Thursday, January 12th using the following activation code: LKVZW

* January volunteer dates are posted. We'd love to have your helping hands!

* We have completed our narrative writing unit and will be starting how-to writing next week! Your child will learn how to teach people how to do something and will write each step in detail. (i.e. how to build a snowman, how to brush your teeth, how to pour a bowl of cereal, etc.)

* Reader Man made a visit today! He came to check and make sure all the kindergarteners know what their reading powers are and to make sure they're using them while they read!
