* We have spent a lot of time this week working on our 'Book Talk Power' which means we tell our partner/listener a little bit about the book before reading it. An example book talk would be..."This book is called Snow Fun. It's about two puppies who run up and down a big hill. At the end the two puppies go down the hill on a sled and say whee! I like the part where the dogs are riding on the sled!" So the child states the title, tells a few things about the book, tells what happens at the end and then tells their favorite part/something that was funny. After the book talk they can read the book. Have your child practice this when they bring their reading bag books home!
* We will be having our annual MLK Celebration on January 16th. As a way to honor MLK's legacy of service, we will be kicking off a food drive for Kids Food Basket. We are inviting parents to volunteer one evening at the Kids Food Basket on either January 25th, 29th or 31st. Click on this link if you'd like to volunteer.
