* Next Friday, June 3rd is Fun Day! We will be outside all afternoon enjoying the nice weather and having fun with field day activities. Make sure your child wears closed toed shoes and their bathing suit under their clothes that day. They will also need to bring a towel, sunscreen and a water bottle.
* Reading groups are officially over for the year! You will sometimes still see the reading bags coming home but the books will be familiar re-reads.
* This past Friday, brown paper bags were sent home so that everyone at Lakeside can start collecting money donations that will go towards a local organization called Kids Food Basket. The kids have been asked to do things at home to earn the money they will be donating. We are hoping that each student will earn $5 by the end of the week. This $5 will provide a hungry child in Grand Rapids with five sack lunches to take home. Please return all bags by Friday, May 27th.
* The LBW race will next Wednesday, June 1st at the EGR High School. Click the following link to sign up your child to participate in this fun event. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, May 29th. http://www.egrlbwrace.com/
