Week Thirty-Three

* Next week we will be having a few different spirit days for Relay for Life. On Monday we will be selling purple bracelets for $1, on Wednesday we will be decorating luminary bags and on Friday we will be wearing purple for $1. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life. If you're interested in attending the Relay for Life event, you can stop by our Lakeside Team Roar tent on Friday at the high school track. Also if you'd like to make a donation, you can support our team at http://relay.acsevents.org/site/PageServer/?pagename=relay and then search Team Roar =)

* We have finished our persuasive unit and boy did they do a nice job with this! We wrote signs about problems we see in our classroom or in our school (i.e. running in the hallway, chairs aren't pushed in, etc.). We wrote letters to our moms and dads about a pet that we really want and what we're going to do to take care of that pet. We wrote letters about something (a toy, game, etc) that we really want and what we're going to do to earn that toy/game. And we also read a book called Hey, Little Ant and wrote our opinion about whether or not the boy should step on the ant. Our next unit will focus on poetry!

* We have officially finished all of our math units for the year! Starting next week we will be revisiting previous concepts, specifically addition, subtraction and number sense.

* We have finished our science unit on living and non-living things. You will find pink science journals in Friday folders and will see everything we learned. Our last unit will focus on Earth materials.
