* Family Movie Night will be on Friday, March 4th. The movie will be Inside Out. Doors will open at 5:45 and the movie will start at 6:00.
* If your child is missing any snow gear items, there are two spots to check. Your first spot is a green crate located in between our classroom and Ms.Mitchell's classroom. Your second spot is the lost and found by the main office. There are A LOT of items in both spots!
What we are learning about...
* Literacy: This week we spent some time looking at diagraphs- th, sh, and ch sounds at the beginning of a word. We also practiced writing words by breaking them apart by syllable to hear as many sounds as possible.
* Math: We have started chapter 7 which focuses on numbers beyond 20. This week we revisited comparing numbers only this time the numbers are between 10 and 30.
* Writing: We continue to work on our how-to writing pieces. We are now beginning to add tips and suggestions to our pieces i.e. don't forget _____ or make sure you _______. We are also adding comparisons i.e. stand on one leg like a flamingo, run like a cheetah
* Science: We will finish our five senses unit this week. A pink science journal will be coming home next week. You will find that some pages may have been skipped, which just depended on the lessons we did together in class. Also, if your child was absent on a science day they may have other blank pages too.
* Social Studies: We have began learning about patriotism and will be learning about US symbols as well as important Presidents.
