Week Thirty-Four

* We had a great visit with our special author/illustrator, Floyd Cooper! The kids got to see him turn a scribble into a a great picture and how he can use an eraser to design an illustration for a book. I'm sure they will tell you all about it!

* We will have our Hike for Hunger walk tomorrow from 2:15-2:45. We will be hiking with Ms. Mitchell's class around the running club loop. Please make sure to send back your brown paper bags with your donation.

* Next Friday, May 30th, Lakeside will be having Fun Day! All of the activities will involve water, so be sure to have your child wear their bathing suit under their clothes. Girls must wear a one-piece suit.  Also, be sure to pack sunscreen, a towel and a water bottle. Activities will start at 12:30 and go until 3:15.

* Tuesday, June 3rd is our Kindergarten Poetry Party. It will start at 3:00 and go until 3:25. Each child will read a poem they have written to our class and to the parents and then we will join the other two classes in the court yard (located inbetween Ms. Mitchell and Mrs. McIntosh's classrooms) for an ice cream party. At that time, your child will get to share the rest of the poems they have written with you.

* Friday, June 6th- our LAST DAY OF SCHOOL...we will be having a pancake party in the morning. I will need a few volunteers again to be my chef's. Please e-mail me if you're available.
