* Running Club started this week Wednesday! I had all of my students give it a try for the first day and it was so fun to see their excitement! Some ran as many as 6 laps around the school which is equivalent to 1 1/2 miles! I posted pictures today on shutterfly. * Art to Remember order forms are due Monday, April 21st.
* Book orders will be due next Thursday, April 24th. Please submit your order online.
* In the Lakeside Pride, there was information about student placement for next year. There was also a link you could click on to download the form that needs to be filled out. This is not required, but it helps us with the process. You can return those forms right to the office or you can put them in your child's blue folder and I will send them down to the office for you.
* We will be heading to Circle Theatre at Aquinas College next week Friday, April 25th to see the play Are You My Mother? Thank you for those that were able to quickly respond to Ellen about being a driver! I'll send out a reminder e-mail next week.
* Reading groups started up again this week. Remember- if your child brings a book home in a plastic zip-lock bag, this means I don't have their reading bag at school. Please check at home and return it to school.
What we are learning about...
- Our writers' workshop time will focus on persuasive writing.
- In Math we will start a new unit on Addition
- In Social Studies we will focus on learning about Earth Day and the importance of recycling.
- Our Science unit is all about the earth too. Students will be learning about our earth's resources (air, water, rocks, and soil.
