* Please don't forget to return your conference confirmation form by next week Wednesday.
* I have been having a handful of kiddos lately without any snacks in their backpacks. Please make sure to pack 2 healthy snacks everyday. Your child needs this food to fuel their brains = )
* Scholastic Book orders are in Friday folders. If you'd like to order books to add to your library at home, please submit your orders online (link to the left) by Wednesday, October 28th. Also, as the holidays are approaching and you plan on buying books as a gift, let me know and I can make sure to keep the books a secret from your child.
*Great job returning those reading bags this week and filling out the reading log! I hope you have enjoyed reading with your child at home. I love seeing how excited they are about it!
What we are learning about....
-Literacy: We are working on identifying and supplying rhyming words as well as stretching and spelling CVC words (i.e. mat, hop, run, ten, mug, etc.)
-Writer's Workshop: We continue to work on writing true stories and are really getting good at adding more details to our words and pictures.
-Math: We just started our next chapter which focuses on numbers 6-9 and how to make different combinations of red and yellow counters to show each of those numbers in a ten frame.
-Science: We will begin our first science unit on forces and motion sometime within the next week or so. This unit will introduce the concepts of pushing, pulling, gravity and positional words.
